ArTIST statement

I was born without incident in 1972 in Norman, Oklahoma. After high school and adolescence, I received degrees in applied art and illustration from Otis College of Art and Design and Whittier College in 1996. I’ve worked as a freelance muralist and portrait painter, a magazine illustrator and comic strip artist, a reluctant theme park caricaturist, and an illustrator for a corporate sponsorship team. In 2007 I stopped working for hire and focused on creating my own art, which is at least 70% better. I’ve shown in some local juried shows, including two designs in the Nature Conservancy’s “Spirit Of The Buffalo” project. My adequate, yet filling work can be seen most recently at the Invited Artists Gallery’s portrait exhibition ‘Seeing Other People’ in January 2009, and the February issue of Downtown OKC magazine. I’m represented by Joe Wade Fine Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
